Have you ever wondered why some people you interact with behave in a certain way? For instance - I recently went for a job interview and the lady interviewing me made very little eye contact, and sat at an angle (half facing me). I was seriously interested in the post I was applying for, and therefore tried to engage her more by talking more indepth about my experiences related to the job, but the more I talked, the more tightly, she seemed folded her arms.
On my journey back home - I tried to fathom out whether I had been successful at the interview, and would be offered the job. I pondered over it well into mid-night, visualising her body gestures in response to my opinions and answers, but the more I thought about it, my optimism dwindled to zero.
The following day,I decided to do some research on body language, as I wondered whether it would be a useful tool in communication - or was it something that was best not delving in to?. But as I have a keen interest in psychology, (particularly human behaviour) I couldn't help myself searching for answers.
I was pleasantly surprised regarding the information I found, as I was a bit sceptical - considering that so much information about a person can possibly be revealed by their body gestures. Not only has my research helped me to understand other people better, but also - change the way in which I conduct myself to people.
