It's Never Too Late to Motivate Yourself to Change

At one time or another, all of us are guilty of feeling "it's too late" or "our time has passed." What are these negative thoughts except so much self-defeating illusion? The truth is an old dog can certainly learn any new trick he or she wants provided the desire is great enough. Of course, a daily commitment strengthened by love and support helps too. Over at Motivation Junction, we came across a great education motivation story about a 97 year old great grandma who recently obtained her G.E.D.

Of her great granddaughter's help the G.E.D. recipient, Evie Eves, said:

"She talked me into it ... I had no self-confidence but she kept saying, 'you can do it, you can do it!' ... When I got discouraged, she would say, 'you can pass it.' "

If you're thinking of taking the GED -- or doing anything else that seems too difficult or out of reach because of your age -- chances are you're not 97 and you have better eyesight than Mrs. Eves. What are you waiting for?
