Your name?
Laura Frisbie, M.Ed.
Your Location (city, etc)
Asheville, NC
Please give us a short summary of your website?
Created by an alternative healing therapist. Provides a holistic view of depression, anxiety, and abandonment issues. 70 pages of free self help designed to help the visitor understand the root causes of their individual depression. Much more than generic, diagnostic based information about depression. Many empowering mind-body remedies. For those who cannot afford private sessions.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The alternative healing work I do is powerful and effective. But it does not fit into current mind sets. Therefore, I need to educate rather than promote. Plus, I have had to heal myself and have enormous stores of experience to share. There was no way to have someone else write what I have to say.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website and I have been working on it for almost 2 years. It has about 70 pages and I am just getting warmed up! Yesterday a mother of two who cannot afford therapy told me she reads every page and feels I am the only one who understands.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I googled keywords about natural healing. I like beat depression naturally because it says it all, it has a "take action" type of energy to it.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
There is nothing similar to my website, that is for sure. In the world of depression, my site teaches that depression has understandable "human" causes which, once understood, can be healed quite naturally. I customize the understanding of the causes of depression to the individual's history. I offer hope, inspiration, care, and a listening ear (it is interactive).
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I expect to revolutionize the way depression is understood and treated. I plan to keep it and develop a large traffic base that will provide a steady income.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far, my success has been with the clients that have decided to do sessions with me. They feel such a trust that they pre-pay me for sessions without questions or even speaking to me first. I have been delighted with the wonderful people I have attracted to me and with the deep level of healing that they have achieved.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would hire someone to drive traffic to my site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, there are Resonance Repatterning practitioners all over the world connected via an association. I would send clients to them, if necessary.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
My biggest surprise was what a lousy writer I was. I have improved a lot, and still have a long way to go. I have a Master's degree in adult education and development and I have always read alot. So writing was something I took completely for granted and boy! It is HARD! Plus, I have been intimidated by the "medical" world of depression.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting traffic and being able to write from my heart, the truth as I see it.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I haven't tried promotion yet.
