Please give us a short summary of your website?
Provides 8 and 16 hour distance-learning anger management programs for adults,couples and the workplace. Programs written by psychologists and based on a new model of anger management developed by Drs. Fiore and Novick.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
A distance-learning program was needed for persons who were geographically unable to attend our local anger management classes in Southern California.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was launched in 2002 and was called The Anger Coach at www.angercoach.com. It describes our various anger management programs and also provides many free resources such as newsletters, reports and anger tips.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name describes what we do!
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Our emphasis is on anger management education and skill-development.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
The long-term financial goal is to provide passive income for my retirement
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The site has been very successful and was well worth the time and effort I've put into it. I also very much enjoy developing new products to help people manage their anger.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would hire programmers to put our material into the newest technologies.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, because it is web-based with a huge server capacity.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Advertising costs can get out of control. Also, it is difficult sometimes to make decisions regarding where best to put advertising dollars.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding appropriate ways to present our material in online format that works as well as the material does in our live local anger classes.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google adwords, writing articles, reciprocal linking
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Much more work than I had anticipated. Dealing with the everyday problems and issues can be draining. It is more fun to create it than to maintain it!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The distance learning site has been for about three years now. I intent on keeping it up for a long time.
